football rivalries for non-local fans

nothing wrong with supporting a club in another country of course, but do you think having an obsessive hatred for your clubs local rival is a bit ridiculous? like a liverpool fan in japan flying into a rage about everton, or an irish united fan frothing at the mouth at any discussion of man city's rise?

what makes me laugh is assholes in this country who go on that they can't go to work with the shame the Monday after ManYoo or Liverpool bate each other because of the slagging they get, FFS

It happens...

First off, Stevie has won this mini-battle!

Secondly, while on the topic, I think it's very fair for anyone in this country to support who they want and go all out when supporting a club from another country. I know many people who live here in Cork but go over to England every weekend or every second weekend to watch their team play in the flesh. You don't really get more hardcore than that. I, myself venture over to Liverpool and often to away games to see them play regularly but wouldn't have an undying hate for any club although there are times when you get a fit of hating a club. For example, I hated everything Chelsea when Torres moved there. Some people have very strong feelings for the teams they support so it's natural to hate rival clubs, even if you aren't living in the area where the club is based.

And just to point out, you don't have to go to the games to be a true supporter. Many people simply can't afford that luxury. There are many people who are upset for the weekend if their team loses on a Saturday. That's just the way it is.

And while I'm at it, I may as well admit that I have rarely ventured to the cross to watch City play. It's nothing against them or the league. I do look out for their results though and am delighted for the fans now that the team and club is going in the right direction.

Your nothing but a shallow, gloryhunting bandwaggonner who has as much connection to a grimy, ugly northern England city and its soccer team as you have to the elephant-polo team of Bangalore. The Oirish numbskulls who fork out thousands annually to head over with their defaced triclours to England to play a vicarious voyeuristic part in this slickly marketed sport-porn for the braindead are not to be admired, they are to be scorned . Nothing seperates the likes of you from prepubescent girls who favour one pretty-boy boyband over another, ecept they grow out of it. You make me sick.

And you keep posting the same , ahem, 'riposte', telling me its the same , along with your lists, of course. The comprehension skills of the typical tabloid-minded Oirish Premiership "fan" such as yourself leave you reduced to that, alas.

Do you support the Munster Rugby team, CLF.
