The convent side of the road is Blackrock when you travel up convent Road.

Its all shite to be fair, since corpo houses were built in Mahon people have been scrambling to be identified as from Blackrock.. Just go up Castle Road and you will find the older residences like Castlemahon House, Mahon Lodge, etc etc etc.
Estate agents are primarily the culprits behind this. If you have a need to act snobby then you are most likely not.

Four generations ago one side of my family came down from Glendalough and have been embedded in Blackrock ever since.
I was born on Fairhill so I'm a Norrie, it was only right that I upgrade the family name in Blackrock with an address in Mahon.
