What year did Pavement play Henry's?

I think I posted this story before but anyways.....

I was working for a few years on a golf course as a caddy.

I was caddying for a woman one day and we got talking about music.

She was saying her son played in a band back home.

She said she'd post me on one of their cds to see what I thought.

Two weeks later Slanted and Enchanted arrived in the post!

I was laughing my ass off, she was making out as if he was playing in a local group who jammed a bit in their spare time.

P.S. I have no idea when they played Henry's.

How very odd, Jim. It was a very good gig, as I recall.

I interviewed Pavement once for my university rag. They didn't use it. I don't think the editor knew who Pavement were. And I may have described anyone who didn't like them as a twat.

yup, t'was excellent, i seem to recall the crowd were dead excited about them arriving in cork.

wonder if bob feels the same way, hard to tell from his interview

I'm sure he was happy.
Trying hard to place it though. I must've been under 16, cos I had to lie to my parents about where I was going. Tickets were very cheap as well. And I think it was my first time in Henry's. But possibly not. That might have been a Sultans underage gig.

Just had a weird realisation. Stephen Malkmus is the musician I've seen live more than any other, with the exception of friends' bands.

I'm not even that into him

Hitched to dubland as a naive young twerp to see Pavement play the sfx. Wandered around til i found the venue, which was closed and dead. Had nowhere to stay, wandered around dublin without a clue about anything, including where to stay..long story.
Heard they played Nancys the day after and was upset to say the least.
Did they play Nancy's or was I lied to?
