For various reasons it has taken me until now to get through the 4 episodes of Adolescence. Not entirely sure what to make of it, definitely a bit disappointed after the first episode which was really incredibly poignant and powerful.
I get what that were trying to achieve in focusing on everything around the kid, and documenting how it pulled numerous lives apart, but in the end they never really get under the surface of the boy himself, nor the root cause other than the obvious. Yeah, we had an entire episode with the psychologist but it was mainly babble scratching at the surface
It was pretty uncomfortable at times and some of the directing was excellent.. but I don’t know, I obviously expected too much of the show, and watching something after great reviews always sets you up for a fall.. the acting was phenomenal in fairness
