Vaccine Wars: EU invoke and uninvoke Article 16

And that has exactly what to do with the EU being high handed regarding Ireland and the movement or otherwise of much needed vaccines that the entire world are trying to get their hands on????

Seriously lads, while yer utter fixation on SF is amusing, I'm starting to worry about yer mental health and if yell ever be able to recover

Lot of fellas on here with early stage dementia judging by the amount of SF v non SF "battles" that form the core of 90% of political threads on proc playing out the exact same repetitious shit over and over. Admins need to get off their holes and uninvoke some of it.

Time for Ursula to go. She's brown bread.

No no- that is not how it works here.
Anything bad that involves the border and migration across it of people, goods, infections etc in either direction, is of course Sinn Feins fault in the eyes of the fixated. SF are living rent free in their large headspace. 😂

Why did it take MM to sort it out? Why did the EU grandees like VDL. Not consult us BEFORE invoking the protocol.

"Not about us without us" is what any Union, including the European Union should be about.

After this stunt, you can forget about a United Ireland. This will have really rallied the Unionist Community and even moderate Nationalists/Catholics into thinking, they are much better off out of the EU, if this is the kind of skulduggery they like to engage in.

On the contrary, if it was a united ireland then the northern part of the country would not have been cut off from getting vaccine supply from the EU. There would be no article to trigger.

What "stunt"?

Protocol promise: PM in vow to trigger Article 16 if trading difficulties worsen

January 14 2021 08:00 AM

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said his Government will have no hesitation in triggering Article 16 of the Northern Ireland Protocol if "disproportionate" problems arise as a result of the Brexit deal.

The U.K. as a 3rd country has no right to anything now as they have cut off their influence and power over Europe.

The E.U. saw their mistake and u-turned on it almost immediately while the U.K. is lying to its own people day after day with 100,000+ dead.

"Arlene Foster urges Boris Johnson to replace NI protocol"

Replaced by what?

There MUST be either:

Border in the Irish Sea?
Border on the island of Ireland?

The land border cannot happen due to the GFA and the Tories have thrown the D.U.P. under the bus so Unionist anger has plenty of takers.

Most polls show about 51% in favour of maintaining the union with 25% in favour of a united Ireland. Theres an increasingly large amount of nordies, who don't identify as unionist or nationalist. They are up for grabs but lean towards stability i.e don't like the unpredictability of big change so would stick with the UK if it remains stable, socially and economically.

That's the big challenge for SF. They can't win a border poll without persuading that group that they'd be better off in a UI and that it wouldn't lead to loyalist violence.
