Underdog GAA players who made it at intercounty level?

Hi all
I'm looking for some stories and examples of players who were underdogs. Game to hurling or football late or those who were no great shakes at underage but went on to become intercounty players?
I'm particularly looking for examples of Cork hurlers but any intercounty players will do.

Harnedy surely the most obvious answer. Lar Corbett from Tipp also never played underage intercounty.

In football Donncha O Connor never played minor or u-21 with Cork.

Same with Bill Cooper in the hurling i’d say.

Lee Keegan never played minor with Mayo dunno bout u21

Lar Corbett from Tipp also never played underage intercounty.

Never played minor but played u21 with Tipp. I think Daniel Kearney was the same.
