The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

I only noticed that last week. It had decent food, but was criminally expensive for what it was.
I never tried their food, it would have gone cold by the time I got home. I don't even know did they have a sit down area. I wanted to go in once but that ex didn't want to. It was there years though

I loved Gaurabaldis on French Church St. Used to go there with Mater and we always loved the friendly service and food stuffs.
Bully's on Paul St was brutal before and the one in Douglas too I imagine Bishopstown was no different. Terrible chain
Sorry about typos, sore eyes

Thali is a very, very good Nepalese/Indian place. I've only ever ordered takeaway, never eaten in the restaurant, but it's always been bang on.

It is on the more expensive side of things though (in terms of takeaway). https://www.thalinepal.com/menu/

Thali had been in my head since mentioning it last week so I got takeaway from there on Friday.

The standards and quality levels have certainly dropped since this place first started up. Everything was either fair or downright poor.

Lamb Korma with basmati - way too sweet, cloyingly so. No other flavours present. Wished I got something else. Didn't finish mine.
Butter Chicken with naan - this was alright, nothing out of the ordinary though. Kinda wished I had ordered something similar.
Onion bhaji - fine.
Veg samosa - over salted and far too heavy on the aromatics - it was like perfume.
Aloo chop - Indian take on a potato pie - didn't eat any of this.

€62.80 or €68.79 after Deliveroo service charge and rider tip.

Expensive for food so underwhelming. Not even a few poppadoms thrown in either.

I retract my recommendation.

We went to l'attitude 51 on Saturday. Haven't been in about 10 years. Definitely not since they reopened after the fire.

Good atmosphere to the place. Nice and busy but not rammed. We'd a table booked but not sure how you'd get on if you were calling in for a glass of plonk on spec.

The menu is funny in that its hard to know how much to order. There is the usual cheese and meat board stuff, and then plates that are kind of like tapas but not enough of them to order enough for a full tapas meal, or larger main course options (Duck leg and the like) which makes the rest kind of redundant

The chef is ex rocket man so all the stuff you used to get there bread and dips stuff are there too.

We went for a mezze board, (Hummous, baba ganoush etc, with Flatbread it was top notch) , a combo platter (3 meats, 3 cheeses, Cheese was excellent, Charcuterie was meh) some smoked Haddock and Mussel Croqettes (also great) and a Picked Egg (I'm a sucker for that stuff)

2 big glasses of their wine of the month (a natural Catalyian one of a grape I had never heard of) and 4 more of a cracking Alsace Reisling meant we probably should have just gone for a bottle, but all great.

€127 ex tip.

It won't change your world but a very pleasent evening and would 100% go back.

I had lunch in Sonflour today.
I had a garlic focaccia thing to start, and mm had a pizza slice thing
We both had linguine, he had a spicy tomato sauce and I had a an aubergine based sauce
He had an affogato and I had a crème brule
2 coffees and 2 lemonades.

Bill came to €65 ex tip. Exceptionally good value given the quality of the food.

I really liked it. Simple, good quality food. All veggie, and almost all vegan. Very busy in there, and it took us a while to get a reservation so I guess they are doing well.
