The Official Man Utd Thread - Part 3.

(Contd)

Solskjaer had run out of excuses, and run out of tolerance. The club put a private jet at their battered manager’s disposal, advising him to take the first week of the international break off. Conversations aimed at persuading Zinedine Zidane to replace him were stepped up.

Zidane was interested, but his wife opposed the move to England. Ultimately, the underqualified Solskjaer’s close-to-three-year stewardship of one of world football’s great powers was ended not by a “Oui” from a multiple Champions League winner, but by his own manifest failure to manage the opulent sporting resource at his disposal.

Two-one down to Claudio Ranieri’s relegation-threatened Watford, the Glazers rebooted the “cultural reboot”. That it took them so long, that Woodward’s “reboot” was ever allowed to happen in the first place, says much about the dysfunction at the heart of Manchester United.

Reading Castles article only confirms what most of us knew with 2 years.

There was no structure to Uniteds play and their training and selection was a joke.

Serious incompetence from those in charge that he was allowed to stay as long as he did.

Match isn't on tv today. NBCSN have it in the states if anyone is looking to stream it.

Good post.
He was clearly out of his depth. He should have been replaced long ago imo.
