Congrats to Pontus Jannson, championship player of the month.

OOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Pontus Jannson's magic
He wears a magic hat
And if you throw a brick at him
He'll head the fucker back
He heads it to the left
And he heads it to the right

leeds on last saturday, people beginning to realise we are stirring

Gary Sprake has died - God rest him

I heard Gilesy say a few times that Sprake was the weakest link in that Leeds team and reckoned they'd have won more with a better keeper. David Harvey, the alternate keeper, also wasn't probably up to the standard of that great Leeds team.

:(
Rest In Peace "Careless Hands".

Pontus got booked in last night's stirring comeback against Cambridge and is now banned for two matches. Great to see LUFC buzzing again - I've been drinking a lot of tay out of this antique piece of football history lately. What a thrill to climb back on the bandwagon

Unreal tekkers from Little Pablo there in the first half. Too many missed chances though, need a second. The Kiwi is a goal machine at Elland road this year.

Hernandez is a class above this level tbf. Leeds were impressive and deserved their win. Good to see them going well.

Derby were absolutely dire though. I thought they'd be good after their recent upturn in results but they couldn't string 3 passes together.

what a display, swansea must be rueing day they sacked monk,
we are going up we are going up, hernandez oozes class

Looked strong all over the park. Luke Ayling, Charlie Taylor, Souley Doukara.

The two big concerns are the depth of the squad at the sharp end and the lack of another striker. Wood's been brilliant this year especially at home but if he goes through a dodgy spell like he does most years or gets injured then we'll struggle for goals.

Still though you just have to sit back and enjoy that. We were immense tonight.

Monk has instilled a great team spirit and belief within the squad. The players work their socks off in every game, but have the fitness levels to finish games off strongly as well. Leeds were down to the bare bones defensively tonight, but you hardly noticed. Ayling, Jansson and Bartley are earning rave reviews for their individual displays and deservedly so. But credit also to Bridcutt and Vieira (and O'Kane when he started) for excelling in the holding midfield role.

It isn't the deepest squad and younger players such as Ronaldo Vieira and Roofe will have to be managed properly throughout the season. Coyle looks like another prospect at right back. Vieira at 18 could be a serious talent. Leeds shouldn't have to sell off their better academy players anymore, but let's see what happens to Charlie Taylor first.

Still only guarded optimism then, for now. Leeds have some serious momentum at the moment but are still only third. And it might take a higher than usual point tally to make the top two this year.
