Chiesa and Danns played for the u21s yesterday. I'd say both will see game time over the next month of games
Good assessment. Newcastle’s press was extremely intense and the insistence to play out through it in the first half caused most of our own problems. In a case like that you really need Trent who can ping a long one in behind the higher line of Newcastle and get them turned. That in turn would get them to ease off their press but we had to make do with what we had.Newcastle played that one as a real cup final. The 3 of Tonali/Joelinton/Guimares is a top 4 midfield easily.
Crowd were well up for it as well. Was a cracking game.
Gravenberch/Gomez/Quansah couldn’t deal with the press at all.
Isak is world class. Brilliant footballer. Lethal finisher and fantastic in the build up. He’d hit 30+ with a top team.
Need Jota/Chiesa back asap. Nunez touch/composure is non-existent. He’ll cost them points again this season the bird brain.
Salah is carrying them. Unbelievably productive player. Simply brilliant.
Alisson stops at least 1 of the goals last night but Kelleher has overall been a great back up the last few months.
Still expect them to fall back into the pack a bit. They looked leggy last night and don’t think the squad depth is as strong as city/arsenal.
A signing or two in January would be welcome but it’d be a huge surprise given FSGs track record.
The squad is showing its lack of depth now at a time when you need the most depth. We need to accept that falling back into the pack is likely but shouldn’t halt the challenge completely. There isn’t a need to a meltdown every time points are dropped.
Aye. There’s loads of football to be played. 7 points lead with 72 points left to play for.
I think the knicker wetting is more to do with fans seeing the table as a real unexpected opportunity to steal a handy one given Arsenal and City’s poor start.
A new manager with no first X1 signings and 3 of the best players able to sign pre-contracts within a month.
I don’t see Liverpool lasting the pace tbh, but this season will be their best opportunity to win it for the foreseeable future if any of the 3 boyos fuck off.
Bumnal are very good at beating the lower teams (yeah yeah, stfu aBandony).I think Pep will undoubtedly flex the chequebook in January.
Any kind of lead has to be maintained before the window opens.
Arsenal won't be anywhere the mixup. Utter dogshit outfit.

Seriously thought their record against the bottom half teams is really good. I can't see City doing one of those runs where they win 145 games in a row this year.
Na, it's going to take a lot more than one win against Forest to convince me.It depends who they buy in January.
They seemed to have righted the ship last night.

I think this decline is terminal tbh (or at least until they spend 400 mill in the summer).
So many of their midfield players just can't play with that intensity anymore imo.
They have definitely lost the legs in midfield while the output from the attackers such as Foden and others bar Haaland has been minimal. None of that helps but they can adjust themselves to maybe press less, defend a bit deeper and still have loads of quality with the ball. And they have a January transfer window coming up to try adjust quicker.Na, it's going to take a lot more than one win against Forest to convince me.
