With Elliot out and McAllister, Szoboszlai blowing hot and cold, they could have done with him not being the next version of Thiago!! Jones stepping up in fairness!

Chiesa would have no impact on the midfield options either way because he’s solely an attacker but he is definitely even more brittle than expected. It was a low cost signing though and this was always a possibility.

MacAllister has been carrying a knock and hasn’t yet struck the consistency levels of last season. He did pick up a cheap yellow on Sat and was lucky to escape a second one so he had to come off. Szoboszlai has been hit and miss to this point. He offers a lot in the way of pressing but needs to up his numbers in terms of goals and assists from that attacking midfield role.

He is slightly dividing the fan base in the same way Wijnaldum used to but he is an important player over the course of the season. Could do with Elliot back alright. The midfield options are light but Endo did step in effectively on Saturday to help see out the game.

Wijnaldum wasn’t expected to contribute goals and assists in Klopps set up. He was brilliant in the left midfield role and alllowed Mane/Robertson do wreck.

Sloboszlai’s decision making is as horrendous as his output. He runs around and makes a nuisance of himself but you’d have to expect so much more from a €60m player.

Chiesa is a typical smart ass FSG signing that has backfired to everyone’s shock.

If they’re gonna sign someone in january it has to be early in the window.

After last season it should be obvious that the squad isn’t capable of pushing on late in the season and with little rotation of the main players they’ll be fucked again by march.
