The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

Told my six year old the news earlier. He's mad into Salah, but Jota scored twice in the friendly I brought him to last summer and hes been big into him since.

Nice moment of levity though "he's dead? Does that mean he won't play next season?".

This came crashing down when he became immediately aware of what death is and what it means. I think it's his Lion King moment
Poor lad I really hope he gets through it, a smallie having to deal with their super hero dying. Fantastic goal scorer and seemed a quiet decent kind. 28 is no fkn age

here we go with the “it was only a few days ago…”

but it was literally only a few days ago i cycled past my young fella’s school where they were winding down för the summer and there was a young lad running around in an away liverpool geansaí with jota on the back amongst a pack of barcelona, desert club ronaldo, haaland and psg shirts, and i thought, fair play!

jota was excellent when fit. doesnt he have the best goals per minutes ratio per player in PL since he joined liverpool?

rip to him and his brother! sorry for the family loss(es)

i was just thinking there, would liverpool, or indeed amy club, have a life insurance policy taken out against a player in case of this horrific scenario?

the number crunchers would like to have their assets protected i’d imagine. nestle the shower of cunts used to do it on employees. it was called dead peasant policy.

Yes, definitely. They'll have insurance policies in place which would cater for various events such as career-ending injuries and, in the extreme case, death. Most likely the payout differs over time based on age, contract length, market value etc.

Clubs also help out with personal insurance policies for the player and there's a lump sum that would come, to the family, from the PFA too.

Jota's family will have more money than they know what to do with, but it's still a sh1t consolation prize for having your life ripped apart.

Jota out for a bike ride, the day after Liverpool win the PL.
