The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

Struggling a lot. Going behind again doesn’t help any initial uncertainty but we have been very poor overall. Credit where it’s due, Palace have been very good. They’re set up very well, not just sitting back, they do try press when they can.

The midfield is a bit too ordinary. Endo in particular is struggling when Palace press him. Could be a day for more comfortable footballers like Elliot who have a bit of creativity and guile in tight spaces. Nunez also not doing well with no room in behind to run into.

To be honest, we are fortunate it’s only one despite having missed two big chances of our own.

Palace set up really well. Limiting space and passing options very well centrally.

They're hitting Eze and Olise really well with longer balls and they're bringing others into play from there. Especially down their left.

Only Robbo getting joy out wide. When Liverpool try to go over the top to bypass the press either the passing accuracy hasn't been high enough or the ball isn't sticking (typically with Nunez).

Should have scored at least once though. Endo hitting the underside of the bar & a wonder save from the acrobatic Diaz effort.

Game crying out for Elliott to pick some more incisive passes in midfield.
