Real Madrid's Ferland Mendy suffers injury — but club will not recall Fran Garcia early
Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy faces two months out after suffering a thigh injury during the club's Copa del Rey semi-final victory over Atletico Madrid last Thursday.
Mendy, 27, will face a prolonged period on the sidelines and will almost certainly miss the crucial Champions League round-of-16 tie against Liverpool.
Despite Mendy’s injury, Real will not bring forward a move for Rayo Vallecano left-back Fran Garcia.
Real will activate their buyback clause on Garcia, who previously spent time in their academy, but the agreement is to buy the 23-year-old in the summer and this will not change.

If he's sufficiently fit by then you'd assume it'll be Alaba filling it at LB vs Liverpool - but Camavinga can cover that position too.
