the official betting thread.

Humphries 4/1
Anderson 11/1
De Decker 33/1
Wessel Nijman 50/1
Wade 80/1

Are my picks for this weeks players championship. Of course there's also a chance young Luke blitzes them all, but I'm not taking the price.

I'd also love to discuss with the layers who are putting Wade up at these ridiculous prices, as to why they are. He's one of the in form players in darts at the moment, and a prove winner. Yes darts is tougher than it's ever been, but I'd bet those layers don't know a lot about darts. Anyway, I'm not complaining, I'll take Wadey at those prices all day long. (And wade goes out 6-0 in the first round)

I nearly would tbh.

Liverpool have a tough run of 5 games leading up to Christmas.

There's still a mountain of quality in that City squad, with KDB back in the mix too.

4/1 is not a bad price at all imho
Fair enough, opinions and that.

But na, what cloudy said in the Spurs thread* yesterday sums it up for me.

*yep, there's a Spurs thread on here.

This is what I've backed so far for the World Championship this year. I usually have a few bets during the year when I feel a player is coming into form and might be value for the big one. Saying that, the G Anderson bet was a mis-bet, and it was meant for the matchplay. But I'm very happy to have him at 25/1 when he's about 10s now.

The Wade bet was another I did when he hit a bit of form. Has a poor enough record in this comp for a player of his class, bht the 100/1 around still is worth a few pennies. Johny Clayton is number 7 in the world, and I cannot figure out how's he's 80/1. Do I think he'll win it?

No, I don't. But that price is insulting. Dirk is one who is just coming back to form after an injury that meant he was shit for a year. Mike de Decker's price is a bit skinny tbh, but I wanted him onside. He's shown he can live with the two Luke's and there's not many who can now.

The only one I'd take back is the Peter Wright one. I love Peter Wright, he's probably my favouirte player ever, but he's playing like a pub player and has been for a while. I hope the phrase form is temporary, class is permanent means he'll come back to his best soon, but can't see it here, and I wouldn't even take the 100/1 about him now, sadly.
