The Official Athletics Thread

Yeah, you wonder did they get asked and turn it down or were they overlooked. AFAIK BOL, Warholm and Ingebrigtsen turned it down

Edit - So did Adeleke, on coach Flor's advice
Laurent Meuwly basically said for Europe based athletes it's not worth the hassle.

All of those three would be commanding something close to 6 figures in appearance money anyway (that's 2k for challangers in GST)

Same for Sha'Carri and Lyles.

Like Meuwily, AFAIK none of the Stephen Francis or Denis Michel athletes are taking part. it'll be interesting to see if the Racers who need to be running fast for this in April and May are still running fast by Sept.

I'd expect at least some of them to drop in as challangers for the LA slam

Just watching the Grand Slam highlights there now.

  • Mary Mora blown out the back in the 800 was the biggest shocker so far.

  • 2nd for Paulinho in the 200 - only Thomas ahead of her so she'll surely take the overall

  • 5000 was set up for the boy Grant - and he nailed it

  • Kung Fu Kenny takes first blood in the heavy sprinting - I notice his number sticker also says "Kung Fu Kenny" now - LOL
