The whole thing is a farce anyway but shock people are ignoring the real issue and blaming SF.

How can independents be in Government but also be in opposition?
It makes a mockery of the democracy like it's comical.
We're gonna be the laughing stock in Europe if our part of our Government can sit in the opposition as well.

A joke they're planning another 2 weeks off as well.

Anyone who defends another 2 weeks off or defends that those Independents can sit in government and opposition would wanna give their heads a wobble.

Grandstanding stunt from opposition, ineptitude from ceann comhairle and a big learning curve for her, one in fairness that she should have known was coming. A compromise on speaking rights should have been sorted before the dail even convened .

It's not about being in gov or opposition, it's all about the allocated speaking time of those sides. The reason technical groups were set up in first place was that the numbers involved them allowed them more time to speak than they would have had as an Independent. Also technical groups have access to committees etc.

I do agree that obviously you can't be in opposition and In gov at same time but this should have been sorted before today. They all want their cake and eat it .there's only a finite amount of speaking time and a compromise should be found or else change the whole structure of how time is allocated.

That's the way I should have worded it, regardless of technical group they should not be on the opposition speaking time.
That's my understanding of it anyway.

And it couldn't of been sorted today as they agreed that with the government - FF/FG set it up like this knowing there would be war today and they can use that to their advantage.
