The next Government

Who will form the next government

  • Total voters
    56
  • Poll closed .
While it does offer choice and there are some "younger" and fresher 65 year olds than others Morning Ireland cited a Pensions expert today that said FF's latest pension ruse merely kicked the can down the road.
Someone else said that it's anti-man because men were less likely to live long enough to reap the benefit of working to 70 for a higher pension.
Think someone crunched the figures and said that were you to work until 70 before retiring you'd need to live another 12 years before "breaking even".

It'll be interesting to see if it remains a choice and how many people take up the option. One suspects that those in physically demanding work won't.
By kicking the can down the road did he mean the age should go up rather than stay at 66? Government have been criticised for not
Giving the cost of keeping it at 66, They say they will do so in 2024, We all know it will mean higher PRSI,

Sinn Fein voted in NI to increase the retirement age to 66, FF voted in the 26 county ROI to keep the age unchanged at 66.

These are the facts as presented by An Taoiseach yesterday.
A few months ago MM would have lost his temper and his composure and walked into a trap, Lately he seems more measured
in his responses, remaining calm but firm

Matt Carthy confirms today that Sinn Fein may not release their budget until Monday.

One day before the budget.

For a party that says they want to lead Govt they don’t want their policies scrutinised, or they are still trying to work out the maths.
When is the budget being released?
Tuesday?
Do the government not want their policies scrutinised? Or are they still trying to work out the maths?

Slam SF budget fine , magic money tree etc etc but why give their detractors news cycles to attack them when they're not the government whose budget is what will actually impact our pockets.

The party that promised to have all the answers this week as still searching for them apparently.

All parties policies should be available to be scrutinised and questioned,

And MLMCD would have shouted him down, but she was very quiet yesterday as he absolutely dismantled her attempt at stirring the pot

No matter how you'd love to I don't think you could coax him to the Loft to show him how much you really love him jimmy
