The Hurling Thread

They’re one crowd I’ve never had a problem with at matches. Tbf, never had a cross word with a Limerick supporter either. Can’t say the same for Waterford and Clare.
Tipp fans are always sound to me when I go to Thurles and are good fun to be around.

I’ve had words with a few bitter Limerick men in the Pairc last year and in the league this year, one fella absolutely losing his mind over a drawn league game.

Waterford crowd can be a bit rough but have been quiet in the last few years which isn’t a surprise.

I got a belt off a Clare lad at a league match in Ennis about 7/8 years ago. He was an aul lad too so I couldn’t exactly hit him back so I just told him where to go. Tipp people are very decent. As you say Waterford supporters can be rough but there are some very genuine hurling people down there and I hope they do win it some day.

one more point should get us through and one more win into Munster final,
we have head to head over Tipp and should have enough scoring diff in event of a 3 way tie.
next week possibly a bit of a phoney match in that its now not a mustwin for either team,
a Limerick friend of mine predicted that Cork would play Limerick three times this summer with Limerick winning the first two and Cork winning in Croker!
I think it’s a bigger game for Limerick than us, we’ve beat them in the last 2 championship matches and they’ll have a hurting Clare team the last day which will be sticky.

Waterford won’t be any easy game for us but playing them in the Pairc is the most favourable fixture you could have in to finish the round robin.

Lads ease off on this “next week don’t matter” craic.

Limerick will be bulling for us no matter what the permutations are, I think ye underestimate how much us beating them twice last year hurt them and we still have nothing won. We have to lay down another marker

Norries are easily spotted even by boggers from Clare 🤣

Oh I agree. KK and Galway for me are the worst.
I think it depends on the small sample of fans you meet. If you meet even a dozen every year it's still not a big enough size to draw huge conclusions about the dabs of it one county and I think our own biases inform it.

Ive had awful experiences of Limerick fans recently but some great ones too. Same w KK. Unfortunately same with our own too. There was a fat couple in their 50s behind us at the league final. Absolutely poisonous, foul mouthed scum roaring at the ref when a Cork player was fairly shouldered. Clueless and classless. An absolute embarrassment.
