One of the games I was at lately, the was a row between two players and the mentor/referee quelled it quickly in fairness but unfotunately there some involvement from one of the player's parents on the line

Parents shouting from the sideline ruin many an underage game.

I was a mentor at a game a few years ago when a fellow mentor from my own club refereed the game. It was U12. It was a dirty enough game and I remember saying to another fella on the line that the lad refereeing was losing control of it, he dismissed what I said. 5 minutes later all hell broke loose and one of our own players broke a lad’s nose with 3 punches. Ever since I’ve been totally opposed to anyone but a qualified referee being in charge of a game.

yeah - you are dead right - the ref really was the problem here.

The ref I know best says you have a guy roaring from the line because loads of frees given against his team in the tackle. The teams poor tackling is a reflection of the coaching, a coach who doesn’t even know what a tackle is, clearly hasn’t a clue about the rules or how to coach.

Oh I want to know this .....Lets get the forum experts opinion on this......What is a tackle?

They should be a ashamed, moving the club fixtures to August. First day of championship, trained for months for and for what ? Torrential rain, and wind. Disgusting. Shows how much they care about the club player.
