Just a heads up for this weekend, GAA stopping the use of screenshots of tickets to gain entry.

Hardly a big deal, save it or your phone or print it off. No doubt the usually cranks here will have a whinge about it. Besides if a QR code isn't broken or damaged it will still scan. Lombard's point about the daughter up the country if absolute nonsense, he can save a screen shot to his phone but can't print off an email.
Ffs the people that fall for politicians nonsense are morons and should really not be left out in public. I'm sure these cranks think that old people are incapable

'Tis very hard to be ruthless at the gate of a club grounds, scanning tickets with cars queuing up, and somebody shows you a ticket that is invalid 'cos the app says it's already scanned.

Slow going 'cos there's a shortage of volunteers, and (in our case) poor mobile coverage.

As a practical matter, you don't get into a debate - you let them in.

Perhaps for intercounty it might be slightly easier to be that ruthless. But it could still be awkward I'd say. Presumably there's a system though that works (GAA are not the only people to have electronic tickets).
Yes at local clubs hosting Championship Games or big league games I wouldn't be ruthless at all.

Intercounty you have to be ruthless. They've been ruthless when it came to cash or physical tickets.
I remember for the league a few years ago I did a favour for a player at the time, he gave me his league pass which was like an ID Card and I had 21 questions off the fella at the gate asking why I had it and who gave it to me (players name was on the card they got 1 if not 2 passes/cards).

They are being ruthless though. Only the original ticket is accepted. No ifs, buts or maybes.

Fellas on the gate pocketing the money?
County board officials pocketing the money when it’s all brought back centrally to the caravan?
I’d imagine the risk of that happening was there. Also I remember down in PUiR Co Board officials being escorted by an armed detective as they took the receipts through the ground. Total waste of resources.

Even though some may cry ageism etc these decisions have a much bigger picture. People can still pay cash in SuperValu and Centra if they wish.

Good points 👍

That's true but my point is it that it should not matter if screenshot or original. If the ticket has not been scanned it should be accepted.
If it was scanned someone is pulling a fast one and should be told where to go.

If I go through my Whatsapp I've plenty of screenshots of tickets that I sent or that where sent to me for the simple reason there's a core group of about 6 of us that go to every game (as much as possible in both codes) One of us will buy all the tickets so we're all together. So if I buy 6 tickets now I can't let the 5 others download it as I'd need to give them my password. Printing is our only option but at times one or 2 people could be late for league game (just coming in for kick off/throw in) due to family commitments or other commitments, so is one person expected to stand out waiting to give paper copy? Reasons why screenshots are handy.
If they're trialing it for Championship fair enough but as I said in a previous post I personally believe it's down to infrastructure and training on scanner and that if any issue having it downloaded/on the Wallet on phone and that shows proof.
But that still gives issue then of people buying 1 ticket and printing the same e-ticket 10 times. You'd get away with that in the terrace if scanners went down.

Only valid proof of physical tickets would be the Centra/SuperValu tickets.

I saw a post above about the option of going Centra/SuperValu and paying cash for tickets which is 100% an option but come the Munster Final/business end of season it's almost impossible to get through these stores.

You can transfer tickets on Ticketmaster if you setup a GAA ticket account
