LBGT colour to be worn on Irish jerseys tomorrow night says a lot about what this country is. Trendy Ireland is great but fuck me we voted for gay marriage a few years ago and they have rights. This is becoming a joke now. What's next for fuck sake.

Yea, I think there should be a separation between football and politics, that sort of thing should not make it onto the pitch.

The Easter Lily a while back was also a bit provocative, but it was sort of a national symbol at a time of a national commemoration, so it was someway relevant to the national team, the gay rights thing is just showboating.

Players are playing for their country, and that doesn't mean they have to support everything that country stands for. Plenty of people voted against gay marriage and they're entitled to that opinion.

It'd be interesting if a player refuses to wear it, it happened on the US women's team and the player was dropped.
