If they can't they should piss off and leave others do it. FG have been in power for 12 years now, and they just keep making it worse.

Firstly, I'd have used the eviction ban properly and put proper measures in place. I certainly wouldn't have ended the eviction ban and, only then, put measures in place. An absolute waste of 6 months. I certainly wouldn't do what Mehole did and boasted about being the only government to bring in an eviction ban into place(I mean, seriously, boasting that the housing crisis is so bad they brought in an eviction ban) and also voted against a motion banning those with cancer, heart issues and mental health issues being evicted.

For what it’s worth we have to look at standards. All well and good to ensure the delivery of high quality high standard homes, but in a crisis we should look at temporary solutions such as modular homes to rapidly improve supply. Then when the crisis has been temporarily alleviated we could replace them gradually with long term higher standard homes.

No point in enforcing EV charging points as a requirement for all new homes when EVs cost €30k and starter homes are being bought by first time buyers who can barely afford the mortgage not to mind an EV

We need to look at the standards in public office. The lying is completely off the charts. If you did half of what these charlatans did in private sector you'd be sacked. There has to be some accountability for the lying populism in elections. Saying you wouldn't go into coalition with a party pre election has to mean something. Politicians forgetting they own multiple houses. Coveney promised in May 2017 that in July 2017 there'd be nobody in emergency accommodation. He is still in government despite record people in emergency accommodation. Only in Ireland. Even the Brits kicked out Boris ffs. Coveney was vocal in 2010 when Cowen was drunk on Morning Ireland but an unprecedented housing crisis? That's grand. Absolute scumbag.
