This drives me nuts as well. You wouldn’t throw the cigarettes before they are smoked on the ground as litter, so why is it ok to feck the butts away?

There’s a simple etiquette. If you want to stand still on the escalator you stand on the right hand side of the step so people walking up can pass on the left
