In general the commentators pushing the narratives, Tyler, Fletcher and co are the worst for this. It often ignores what's actually happening in front of them.
I can't understand why pundits need to be from ex teams too, especially when they're in commentary, the likes of Ferris and Heaslip at the rugby may as well be watching from the stands. The complete silence sometimes when events are replayed and is quite damning when there was cynical and/or dangerous play is worse than stuff they do say!
"Rob Kearney is leading the way on metres gained today" - he's a full back, he ran 20 meters uncontested, 4 times already
"Jonny Gray is a tackling machine" - he's a pillar at a ruck, your underage players will make those.
