Sky + remote control help

The record button on my control has stopped working. Every other button is working fine. When you press the record button the red light on the sky flickers but the option to record does not come up on screen. Is my control banjaxed or is this something silly that I'm not aware off?

New batteries needed?

Mine does strange things when they need replacing.

Take them out rub them in your hands to warm them then put them back in and try again, if it works you need new batteries

Is it from sky? If you are renting the box they should replace it.

Think Tesco sell them, £20 or so here

Hm I actually don't know if I own or rent it. I got it earlier in the year to replace my old box as I was moving house. They offered to change it when I rang to give them change of address so I got sky + box then. Era I'll just get a new one if it's gonna be hassle.

Sounds like they own it, just give them a ring they should just post one out to you

I'd borrow a neighbours one to see if it is the remote before spending bobs.

Try turning off the sky at the wall and back on again, let it re-boot (you'll hear it doing it) before you press the sky to come on again.

Rutty your a star! Just called 'em, had to go through some rigmarole turning things on & off but tis working again. No point in a sky + box if you can't record like!
