That is nonsensical, so even if they were Marxist in ideology, but were avowed nationalist they would be right wing, some theory.
Not nonsensical at all. But it is bizarre.
The point is that despite all of their socialist pretensions, they cannot escape the fact that by definition they are right wing if they subscribe to nineteenth century nationalist principles. Jingoism, cultural nationalism, introverted self-determination, identity politics, preoccupation with language/religion/borders all signify old-fashioned and traditional right wing political views. Sinn Fein means 'we ourselves' afaik. Sounds pretty right wing to me.
This ^^^^^^
Narrow inward looking out of date and in a post nationalist Ireland just totally out of date.
They actually share common ground with UKIP
Local and European elections ?
No one cares about the current local and EU numpties deciding on local footpaths or voting on obscure EU laws.

ZZZZZZ Blueshirt snoring when not sucking up to Angela!
Right across the country Sinn Féin is putting up strong opposition to the politics of austerity. People recognise our efforts and are supporting us in ever-increasing numbers. On May 23rd a vote for Sinn Féin is vote AGAINST water charges, the property tax and mindless austerity. It's a vote FOR transparent and accountable Local and European Government. It's a vote FOR fairness and it's a vote FOR equality. North and South - vote Sinn Féin for a New Republic.
