SF and left councillors in Cork, who?

Need to organise an interview from someone on the left for a news story, who would be opposed to water meters.

Any suggestions?

Give Mick Barry a bell. Mick's opposed to everything. He's from Northside though.

Michael Frick Murphy from SF will be on the ballot in the area where yesterday's protests were. Give him a shout. 086 1663311

Mick Barry is your best bet.

He is officially against everything apart from Socialism since 1986.

Other than that go for the "rent an outraged quote"Shinners.

No point in speaking to Sinn Fein. They have now sold out their left leaning policies and firmly embraced a right wing West Brit mentality. Barry is a good option.

Only in Northern Ireland. They're still fierce fond of the poor, the oppressed and de wurkers here.

SF have been found out big time in the six counties. The latest outburst by Martin McGuinness that "Peter Robinson had crossed the line" was shown to be the usual mock bluster by someone who had been found out.

Robinson had been referring to McGuinness's huge "U-Turn" re the welfare spending cuts being imposed on NI by the mainland and to which he had agreed. Of course that would be contrary to SF's stance in the South where there are "fiercely opposed" to spending cuts in any way, shape or form as they believe that is a vote winner.

Being the only All Ireland political party does seem to have it's disadvantages, especially when the two top men are discovered to be singing from separate hymn sheets.

Sf are not left wing. they are a nationalist, introverted party living in the 19th century. In any other state in Europe, they'd be classified as right wing. How can a narrow-minded backward party like sf be seen as left? ffs.

Your knowledge of SF is akin to that of a pig and a holiday...
