Sex Education for Primary school....

Talking about 'Lived experience' in relation to harmful medical treatment with lifelong consequences is only bollocks talk.

Ireland should be adopting the recommendations of The Cass Report. No question.
But has the medical Treatment been harmful to everyone? Obviously no is the answer.

The problem lies in the management it seems. At least that is what I gleaned from the Cass Report. Which is why I said I doubt Ireland will not find it plain sailing. Simply because it is an absolutely huge undertaking. But just because something is difficult doesn't mean the requirements should be ignored.

There is no moving forward without that first step. And I feel families faced with these challenges deserve to be assisted and guided through the process. Saying a downright NO is failing those people.

As for lived experience. I was referring to an opinion rendered by the lived experience rather than someone without any real tangible experience. There is a difference. Walk a mile in ones shoes and all that. You might feel acutely different.

Again, mindlessly pushing affirmative treatment on this has led to a raft of irreversible lifelong problems for a huge cohort in the UK.

To repeat the same mistakes here is unconscionable.
I'm not mindlessly doing anything. I'm simply saying the issue requires that it be explored and that the implementation of treatment be examined fully and continue to strive for better and safer solutions.

You seem to think you can just ignore the obvious problems associated with Gender Dysphoria.

What do you think is going to happen if young people and their families are left by the wayside in this matter?

Depression, Suicide , Self - harm, and long-term mental and physical suffering is the fallout of societal blinding ignorance. It's not good enough to just say NO.

Tell me you haven't read the Cass Report without saying you haven't read The Cass Report.

Lol 'simple solutions'.
Oh, I've read it alright.

Your approach to this issue in no way adequately deals with the complexity of the real decisions facing trans people abd their families. If the dismissal of trans people's 'lived experience' didn't flag that, the posting of a borderline transphobic meme certainly did.

Absolutely!! This pretence that denial of any sort of treatment for young trans people has no negative consequences of rubbish.

Giving your child gender affirming care might not be a parents preference but still might be a better option than their child being dead.

To go back to what this thread is supposed to be about. Our 6th class were given a sex education talk in Primary School, over 20 years ago.

Alas, it would be a long time indeed before I had first hand experience of most of what was taught to us.
