Russia's unjustifiable war of aggression in Ukraine

Some strong claims by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (via their official telegram channel):

Defense forces of Ukraine struck an enemy submarine and S-400 air defence system in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Thus, according to information confirmed yesterday by units of the missile forces, in cooperation with units of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 4 launchers of the S-400 "Triumph" air defense system were significantly damaged. Also, in the port of Sevastopol, the submarine of the Russian Black Sea Fleet "Rostov-on-Don" was successfully hit. As a result of the impact, the vessel sank on the spot.

For reference. Submarine B-237 "Rostov-on-Don" (according to NATO classification - Kilo class) is one of four submarines of the "Kilo" class, capable of using missiles "Kalibr".

"Rostov-on-Don" was commissioned on December 26, 2014. On September 13, 2023, as a result of a Ukrainian missile attack, the ship was seriously damaged. Later, it was repaired and tested in the water area of the Sevastopol harbor. The cost of the submarine is estimated at 300 million dollars.

The destruction of "Rostov-on-Don" once again proves that there is no safe place for the Russian fleet in the Ukrainian territorial waters of the Black Sea. We thank the Ukrainian soldiers for their professional work! To be continued…

Glory to Ukraine!

First F-16s have arrived in Ukraine
I think it's a bit late in the day for those jets to make a big material difference in the war. Not enough jets will be provided and limited by the number of pilots trained on them.

They will also have to station them far from the frontline.

It depends on who wins the US election. There are big rumours too that Sullivan and others from the Nat Sec team will be replaced by Harris's NAT sec team, though there are also rumours that might include some from Obama's spineless nat sec squad.

That said, if Harris wins and the Dems win back the House as I expect, there is good bi-partisan support in the Senate to further support Ukraine.

Even with a Harris win and F-16s pledged by other European countries the number of jets that Ukraine will get won't be enough for what their needs are.

Absolutely for the scale they need to dominate the skies, but they should have enough by next April to at least contribute air support, which has been Ukraine's biggest problem all along.

I think the tide is turning.

The long range strikes are a game changer.

When Ua get enough F16s and trained pilots, they will also change things.

Now that Trump is having problems, the Ua morale will improve significantly
