Russia's unjustifiable war of aggression in Ukraine

Sanctions are also an important statement to the populations of the countries imposing them, indicating a sense of justice and solidarity with the victims of war, in this case, Ukrainians.

If Russia is bombing hospitals in Ukraine it's important for many countries to make a statement by declining trade with the aggressor, Russia, even if it doesn't have a direct, substantial or immediate effect on the attacker.

If the owner of your local shop beat up your mother, you'd like to think your neighbours, friends and family might avoid shopping there out of respect to the victim even if the drop in trade doesn't impact the perpetrator.

The same could easily be said of Westerners siding with Israel and how the EU is pretty much doing exactly what Israel wants them to do.

Can you please provide one Western country which trained Israeli troops, located their nukes on its territory, serviced Israeli assaulting troops and hosted Israeli paramilitary group and then directly from their territory enabled Israeli forces to attack another sovereign country?

One will do, please :)

PS. bonus, please also give an example when Israel with Western countries have recruited illegal immigrants in the third world countries to send them over to the Palestinian borders promising a better life in exchange for money causing a humanitarian crisis :)

The Top 10 Donors to Ukraine

Ukraine has received over $230 billion in aid since the Russian invasion in 2022.

EU institutions and the U.S. together account for almost 70% of the total aid.

This graphic uses data from the Ukraine Support Tracker to visualize the top 10 donors to Ukraine between Jan 24, 2022, and July 31, 2023.

European Union is the Biggest Donor

Military aid to Ukraine includes weapons, equipment, and items explicitly donated to the Ukrainian army.

The graphic also illustrates humanitarian aid to assist civilians and financial aid like grants, loans, and guarantees made to the Ukrainian government. It does not include private donations, support for refugees outside of Ukraine, or assistance from international organizations.

As of July 2023, the European Union institutions have been the biggest donor, sending over $90 billion through various mechanisms such as loans or grants, and military assistance through its European Peace Facility fund.

Unlike the United States, which has the largest share of aid in military support, the EU has focused on financial aid.

EU aid includes $3.3 billion for lethal equipment and an additional $2.1 billion to supply Ukraine with one million rounds of ammunition.

The bloc is considering providing up to $53 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine (in loans and grants) for the 2023-2027 period, including using frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine’s reconstruction.

While not captured in this dataset, Denmark and the Netherlands announced in August 2023 that they would donate up to 61 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

U.S. Support

After the European Union, the United States is the biggest donor, with over $70 billion.

The country has already disbursed 96% of the funds allocated to Ukraine since the start of the war, and this has sparked a political controversy.

While the Biden administration strongly defends a $106 billion Emergency National Security Supplemental Request to help Ukraine and Israel, Republican senators oppose the current budget, which contains an additional $60 billion in aid for Ukraine.

US and UK positioning naval forces in the region. Reports of US forces on the ground in Gaza working with Israelis no the West is certainly not like Belarus.. Not.

Russians, especially the older set, are well used to hard times and shortages. All those Western companies that pulled out, Russians have taken over their plants and franchises and are pumping out ersatz versions of Maccas or Carlsberg or whatever. China has happily exported them Chinese versions of products and services. If you've been bombarded with propaganda for decades, you're not going to worry much about what's printed on your fast food meal wrapper, maybe even feel a sense of pride over Russian made do and mend getting one over on The West.
Maybe the millennials and zoomers are crying over not getting on Western social media so easily but they aren't going to overthrow a government over that.
Sanctions are definitely causing problems but not as much as we would like to think, plus it took a loooong time for a some multinationals to grow a conscience and leave the Russian market.

BBC report on the grim situation in Andrikva. Heartbreaking for the elderly people being moved out in the last years of their lives. Russia's absolutely and utterly pointless attacks just levelling towns and villages at insane cost in Russian and Ukrainian lives.

Another interesting report from Germany's DW News English language service:
Absolute fucking madness, the whole thing. Utterly tragic.
