No change to the tv licence, even though apparently the communications minister was in favour of getting rid of it. And RTE are going to be getting a load of extra tax payers money on top of that revenue. They should have scandles more often.

Prime Time is probably the only show that RTE produce that is watchable. In general the content RTE produce is self-indulgent dog shit. I am guessing Crankycorner works for RTE?

It was Micheal Martin who insisted on keeping the RTE TV licence fee. Perhaps he is trying to buy positive media coverage for the next election. Catherine Martin wanted to scrap the licence fee but she was overruled by Martin.

Retaining the licence fee is a really stupid decision that no one apart from Fine Gael and Fianna Fail were in favour of. I haven't paid the RTE TV licence in more than 10 years. I'm not gonna start now. And after that announcement a few days ago, I feel even better about not paying it. This is Fine Gael and Fianna Fail sponsored incompetence of the worst kind. The RTE licence fee should have been abolished. Thanks to Fine Gael and Fianna Fail it is being kept.
