Recommend me a sat nav.

I know absolutely nothing about them so looking for any advice on best models to go for with regards to ease of use/connectivity etc.

Cheers.

find the garmins easiest myself but others reckon the TomTom - like I say I use and prefer Garmin....

edit: mate of mine has a TomTom - came by a week or s ago but hadn't visited my new place so I says save it in your nav. Gave up trying after 20 mins.

With the Garmins though? Tap teh screen and it asks 'save location' tap yes and enter details and job done. 30seconds ....

joab done...

Tomtom maps are pretty expensive too.

I've got a tomtom (or, more accurately, my girlfriend has one I gave to her...) and it's excellent, couldn't fault it. The traffic info was particularly good too, when we were using the free trial, but the subscription is steep for what you get.

I dunno what Garmin charge though.

A quick google reveals that Tomtom charge £50 a year for the traffic info, £30 for map updates. Their website is poor enough, IRC, the annual subscription was £80 a year.

It's probably the same price in euros for Ireland.
