Rate the last movie you watched out of 10

That was it exactly. There's a lot that can be done in a short amount of time to establish dynamics and hint at depth, but Villeneuve didn't seem interested in doing that at all. When the doctor betrays them to the Harkonnens, it fell completely flat too. No time was spent on him at all, so his betrayal had zero impact.

As awkward as it comes across nowadays, Lynch's decision to have some characters' thoughts dubbed in works miles better than not even trying to characterise them.

Tbh, I think Villeneuve has the makings of a great music video director. Film seems a stretch for him.

I read the books years ago.

I just dont think Villeneuve can do characterisation.
I mean Arrival looked great but the aliens seemed more relatable than the main characters.

I thought Sicario was a right pile of shite, girl boss nonsense.

Critics seem to adore his movies but he cant connect with an audience. Bladerunner TNG was a complete bomb.
Same problems.

I really wanted to like Dune2: Electric Boogaloo but it was just so much spectacle and very little substance.

Austin Butler is a star in the making, did way more than Shamamamamalay with basically nothing to work with.

I liked the new Blade Runner on a second watch. I don't think Ford needed to be in it at all, though.

Whatever about Harry, the CGI Sean Young was a right spanner in the flow of the movie, claaaaang. Yikes. Well that didnt work.

It always amuses me that people think Jared Leto can act. He was like someone who wandered in from another movie lol.

Ridley Scott savaged it and to my mind he was right in what he said , that the pacing was just all over the place. No audience was going to connect with it.

(Gosling was good alright but youve actors having to overcome his storytelling imo)

Was released at the wrong time.

#metoo was brimming.

Whilst I support that early movement... The dystopian misogyny was too far.

Dystopian was lost.

Blade runner.... Is not the Real World.

That Ferguson bird was giving out during the week that some nasty man shouted at her on a movie.

Ffs ?

Poor old Mickey Fassbender is taking the heat.

I really enjoyed The Killer tbqphwy, a good knockabout romp.
