I don't think its aged particularly well.

There was a spate of Nam movies off the back of it. None of them have held up particularly well .Yes war is hell, loss of American innocence, blah , blah.

I rewatched it a few years ago and was surprised at how poor it was from my previously recollection of the film.


Full metal jacket is streets ahead of it and has held up incredibly well. Its just as watchable now as when it was released.

Kubrick was a genius, Stone has made an awful lot of crap.

Good post.
"Full Metal Jacket" is far superior to "Platoon".

The Batman.

Enjoyable but a bit too long. Patterson is very good but felt Batman the character sounded overly preachy at times. Maybe that's more fitting with the comic book.

Good watch, around 40 minutes too long and a lot darker than the last batman incarnation but not as dark as the joker.
