Goleen and Crookhaven are beautiful also, very bleak scenery. I'd recommend Heron's Cove which does the most unreal dinners and brekies, with rooms overlooking an inlet with boats moored. There are a few wee pubs in the village with good craic. It's one of the most romantic places you could find for your wife.
Crook a really good isolated spot.
Back in the early 1980s it used be full of teeny-drinkers at summer weekends. Not as bad a Schull in fairness. The Croookhaven Inn, Billy Sullivans/Nottages were good spots back then. It's probably all changed now though.
Glengarriff. Only thing to remember is to avoid the Lough Avoul, formerly the Rainbow Restaurant of Tripadvisor infamy.
