Places to go in West Cork

How bad boy

Want to take a night down in West cork over the Christmas break, my missus lives being by the sea and the house is going to be packed at home.

Kinsale and Courtmac are a bit too close, looking at somewhere like Baltimore, any recommendations?

Goleen and Crookhaven are beautiful also, very bleak scenery. I'd recommend Heron's Cove which does the most unreal dinners and brekies, with rooms overlooking an inlet with boats moored. There are a few wee pubs in the village with good craic. It's one of the most romantic places you could find for your wife.

Sherkin Island ?
Yeah, not loving the thought of braving that ferry at the end of December. Nether the missus nor I are great at the auld motion sickness. Good suggestion though.
Castletown/Allihies?
Bit too far for 1 night, really.
Clonakilty, Inchydoney Island, Skibbereen is a great little town with a good vibe. Nice food in these places too.
Clon/Inchydoney are great spots, used to work in Clon long time ago. Have stayed there with her a good few times for weddings.

Heron's Cove looks nice alright. On the list.
Came across that one, on the list too.

Baltimore is a lovely and quiet place to get away alright.

However, check out The Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery. You'll be right at the bay; and, Rosscarbery will shave more than an hour driving to and from Baltimore. Also, you're between Skibb and Clon if you want a quick getaway into town. Leap, Glandore, and Union Hall are a short jaunt, as well.

Stay the night in the Celtic Ross and hit O Callaghan Walsh for food. And pints then next door. Top class.
