can’t remember the ins and outs of it but heard tell from a buddy of an english couple, the wan pregnant, went to russia for a 3 month job contract. got extended and the wan ended up giving birth. ruskies tried to turf the couple out once the work visa was up and wanted to hang on to the child since they considered it russian. fairly sure the embassy had to step in and help out but after making them jump through hoops let the child come back with the parents.
