Get a Oyster card in Heathrow underground station.
Top it up when needed .

Will u be making many journeys. Buy a day pass for each day if your are and will save you the fiver deposit on the oyster. But if your just in and out from heathrow a single ticket prob your best bet. An oyster will reduce the fair. but are you likely to use it again in the future if not you will have a few pound and a deposite tied up in it.

Not really - Heathrow - Covent Garden - few tube rides around there - and then back to Heathrow next day.

Viking exhibition on in the British museum looks interesting. Some nice Korean restaurants near by on Giles street.
