Is this 'Bitcoin' the real deal?

What do the PROC crypto experts position on DOGE coin? Is it for real or just another one Musks little games? I threw a 100 quid on it a while back just for the craic and it’s currently up 80%
Well you're not going to get rich putting 100 quid in such a large marketcap. You would be very lucky to do a 2x from here. Assuming an alt season will come, as has traditionally followed a BTC halving and ATH, there are far better opportunities to make 10x plus if scroll down into top 100 crypto projects. NFA

Ya I was never doing it to get Rich more of a test to see what happens, I know fuck all about Crypto (not sure anyone actually does tbh) I’ve a bit in bitcoin which has done well and I took out my original investment so it’s all profit now

like anything in life be it stocks/shares or going to the bookies it’s mostly guess work imo.

I have a friend who is big into crypto and has done very well out of it as he was on BTC early doors and stuck with it through the bad times, his opinion is there is BTC and then there is the rest.

Hi.
I'm looking for a Christmas Gift for someone, they're in their early 20s, any recommendations for a book on investing in stocks , something not too advanced, for starters, thank you in advance?

You don't need a book.
When it comes to Bitcoin, conventional bro wisdom seems to be to buy the dip and sell high - there doesn't usually seem to ever be a reason that it goes up or down which isn't gibberish when you delve into it.

When you put your cash in to Bit Coin it’s backed by no material asset. Put your cash in a stock and it’s backed by the asset invested in. Bit coin asset does not build, service, sell, generate income it’s basically a cyber pyramid scheme. It’s made many people rich. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with hard earned cash.

No currency is truely backed by anything once you break it down.
Gold is just a yellowish durable soft metal. Very little practical demand for it beyond heat shielding and electronics. Diamonds are compressed lumps of carbon. Some practical use but it's limited. Emeralds, rubys, just shiny shiny.
All standard currency is worth what the market says it's worth.

You're not wrong about it being an entirely unproductive asset though. In fact, it's even worse, it's actually a destructive asset, driving vast amounts of pointless energy use.
Doesn't make it worthless, but also doesn't mean it's not a pyramid scheme which explodes on periodic basis.
