Immigration Thread

Ivana mentioned that this morning on Morning Ireland, impressive actually how she suddenly appeared after the tents and the economic migrants were gone.
She said it should not all be concentrated in Dumplin.
Funny how Dumplin politicians discover there are places outside of the M50 when it's crappy stuff they want to distribute.
Spot on

This might have been posted already. Look at the state of this. How many more scum like this are getting into Ireland?

This absolutely shocking.

How we can allow access to anyone without correct documentation is mind blowing.

It’s also very unfair on those from overseas who come here with visas to work and live in Ireland, the Brazilian community are a prime example of this, I know a few of them personally, they a good hard working people in the most part who are a net benefit to Ireland in my view.

We need to start taking a hard line with those arriving at boarders without passports/documentation as our lax approach is being exploited by criminals. This is already the law but for some unknown reason we’ve decided not enforce it.

The law is law and we can’t start picking and choosing which laws we want to abide by.

Harris has walked into a nightmare by taking the top job. He's the Stephen Kenny of the Irish political scene.

Tents have now sprung up in Ringsend and East Wall, less than six hours after the clearance of the Grand Canal, the Dáil has been told.

A total of 163 people were moved to State-provided accommodation this morning, following the dismantling of a makeshift migrant camp along Dublin’s canal.

The East Wall area has already been a flashpoint for immigration protests, while in Ringsend there was an arson attack on a disused pub amid rumours it would be repurposed and used to house migrants.

Change to what though is the problem? The only other political party with any clout is sinn fein which have mostly the same policies as the current government. You could easily group FG, FF, SF into the one party at this stage. As much as FG like to differentiate they are much the same. We need radical change and I don't mean just this immigration crisis or whatever. We need to rapidly reduce the number of quangos, NGOS etc suckling at the teet of taxpayers money. We have more quangos and NGO's than most countries in Europe and for such a small country that is simply unacceptable.
FG are the most neoliberal of the biggest parties, they are in the pockets of the likes of IBEC and the IFA. They need to be kicked to touch. They've left an awful mess behind them.
