Immigration Thread

I see far right terrorists have set fire to another building in Dublin.
Action needs to be taken.
The far right do as they please and the softly softly approach by the Gardaí hasn’t worked too well. All so called protests outside proposed or current centres for refugees should be cleared off. If anything close to what happened in the Dublin riots happened again then the public order unit need to be deployed to clear the streets.

It is similar to dealing with kids, You can keep taking the easy way out and buy them what they want, But long term it is better
to put your foot down and just say no,

Heard Bacik on yesterday, 'Ireland isn't full' she says.

Yeah Ivana, we've clearly reached capacity in terms of the number of asylum seekers we can accommodate.

Those going on about Connaught and other regions being sparsely populated seem to think you can simply stack refugees ten high in a field in Mayo. 🙄

You facilitate according to resources available.

This country will be a fucking ghetto in 12 months time if some sort of plan isn't formulated.

By all means take in refugees but only if we have an actual plan in place. You can't just welcome them in and then tell them to sleep on the streets.

Anyone who is genuinely surprised by the rise of the far right is a total idiot.

I think the rise of the far right is grossly overstated by government instead of facing upto valid criticism of its policies.

Hospital consultants telling us pushing children toward treatment in places like Tavistock is enormously damaging...far right

Concerned parents worried about the suitability of certain sexually graphic books in the primary and post primary curriculum and libraries...far right

People questioning the wisdom of parachuting hundreds of asylum seekers into rural communities without the facilities to accommodate them....far right.

A lack of proper border controls and enforcement of deportation orders...far right.

Etc, etc.

If the far right were as all pervasive as the parties of government and the media would have us believe then surely their support would amount to more than the half a percentage point these parties took in the last election.

Wait until the canvassing starts for the local and Euro elections, all political parties representatives will have their ears warmed and will be rudely awakened to the reality out there in people's opinions.

Indeed, the label of "far right" is a handy one for politicians to throw out to deflect from their own failings
