ICT Associate Professional

FIT, in collaboration with the Department of Education and SOLAS, has recently launched a new initiative - ICT Associate Professional - a new IT apprenticeship – learn & earn – pathway to a career in the technology sector.

ICT Associate Professional is a dual-education apprenticeship-style format of ICT skills training and development which has been endorsed by the industry and government.

Over 7,000 jobs are currently available in ICT sector – as highlighted by the FIT ICT Skills Audit 2014 – 75% of which are at entry and competent levels.

This ‘learn and earn’ model of provision is a two year programme during which the student will attain a Level 6 ICT and Professional Development Qualification and will be awarded the title of ICT Associate Professional by the industry. There are two streams to choose from; Systems & Networks or Software Development.

If you or indeed any of your friends and family are interested in this initiative, please write to us on ictap@fit.ie or apply online through the FIT website www.fit.ie. You can also call Vincent on 021 230 7091 or Alana on 021 230 7089 for further details.

We will be holding information sessions in the next couple of weeks so contact us today to secure your invitation.

I can tell you from experience that FIT may mess you around.

don't rely on anything they say. Their courses are all down to government funding which if not given out no courses will go ahead or will be a long delay in putting them on.
