How to Challenge a 'Yes' vote...

Given that the second referendum on Lisbon is a direct challenge to the previous 'No' vote, is there any possible way to legally challenge a 'Yes' vote or at least put such a challenge through the courts to delay the ratification process???

It is utterly undemocratic to allow one and not the other surely???

prevention is better than cure on this one i'd say. get up to your local polling station and hand out info or good newspaper articles today.

i would love if what you were saying would be possible though. but i guess u know deep down you'd have no chance.

There was already a challenge in the High Court, at the beginning of this campaign.

It was dismissed.

Anyway, isn't it a bit premature to be calling things? The vote could go either way.

guarunteed that ganley's deep pockets will take this to the supreme court if yes vote prevails.

supreme court challenge to nice re-run failed as far as i recall

Id be careful there. Its illegal to distrubute political leaflets or be seen to influence the ballot within a certain distance of the polling station.

Indeed

Although having just come back from voting, both Fianna Fail and the Socialist Party had posters up right outside the polling station.

Absolutely no way I'm afraid. We're not living in a democratic union anymore... I mean come on like.

Lisbon I
Irish People: No
EU: Wrong answer. Try again.

Is that democracy?

That's just rubbish! In the first vote concerns about the treaty were voiced. These were then sorted and we were asked again.

Check the definition of democracy, we still as an Irish people decide the fate of the treaty hence majority wins, ie. Democracy. What about the democratic rights of people Sinn Fein shot and blew up, the rights of children that Coirs type buggered, the rights of shareholders Libertas backers cleaned out. Don't lecture on democracy please!
