How many Pride weekends are there?

I think that its a book aimed at teens. If you don't want your 9 year old bring able to browse the young adult section of the library then I think it's up to you to police that.

Do you have anything to back up your claim that this book was deemed suitable because of fear of being labelled transphobic or homophobic otherwise?

Ok my 14yo... point still stands. There should be a standard.

(and no obviously I have nothing to back that up, call it a safe assumption.)

Lucky for all of us I think that standard is pretty well established.

Theres been enough parents contacting the relevant authorities about this that the book has been moved to the adult section in a lot of Irish libraries.

I think its pretty pathetic from the usual suspects to be performing every kind of mental gymnastics than simply state its not age appropriate for kids of 12.

Theres no 'paranoia' there 🙄

The hysteria can subside now till the next outrage.
I just checked the Irish libraries website, there are 297 copies available at present. Every library in Ireland has it catergorised as Young Adult Non Fiction or Adult Non Fiction. Young Adult is 15-17 year olds.
Just curious how do we know the book wasn't always in that section?
