NEWS:

Fly Norwegian are expected to announce the cancellation of the Cork Airport to Boston Logan & Barcelona routes which were due to launch this summer.

A route to New York in 2017 was also planned but this will also be shelved.

The reason is because the US Dept of Transport have refused to give Norwegian a licence to be based on the US due to pressure from the US pilots union.

Official confirmation from Cork Airport & Norwegian is expected soon.

When they eventually come knocking looking for votes I wonder how many of these politicians will have the decline of Cork Airport due to the fact the DAA don't give a shit on their agenda?

Incompetent scum of a government and daa. The biggest company in the world announces 1000 new jobs for cork in the next few years and they cant even fly direct to their homeland from this city.
Minister for Dublin transport ( fuck the rest of the country) deserves a slap for not sitting around a table with the US pilots to hammer out a deal. People should be livid.
That's the m20 motorway and direct US flights scrapped in the space of a few months.
