Cork Pharma Site Crippled by Cyber Attack

Petya Virus has crippled a cork pharma site where hundreds of people are based.

Millions lost and no idea when they can get back up and running again but it could be weeks before some services are restored.

There were meant to have been some paniciky scenes as various computers and systems crashed last week.

Staff people will get paid whether or which but contractors may be just told to go home.

Lucliky enough for the contractors there is work available if you are willing to travel but many of these people are westcork heads who dont want to travel.

MSD brinny has a slightly larger % of production operators as they still manually handle a lot of their vials (little glass bottles). Its an outdated site in that respect.

A modern pharma site might have maybe 20% of peolle doing direct production. MSD brinny might have maybe 30 or 40%

That's true (I used to work there myself). Just to clarify, it isn't just MSD Brinny, it is MSD workwide. This was a coordinated attack by the Russians on Ukraine to wipe out all their files, which spilled out elsewhere. There's an MSD Kiev, and that's how it got into their intranet. It'll take a fair amount of time to sort all this out.
