Cork Minor Hurling 2024

Common sense prevailed when they brought the Minor club grade from U17 back to U18. I saw some great minor games from P1 all the way down to B grade this year. It's the right age for minor and bridges the gap better for young players when transitioning to U21 and adult teams.

On the u18 rule of not being allowed play with the club at senior/inter level, one area I've seen it make little sense is in clubs who are at different levels in the 2 codes.

For example a club like Fr o'neills, senior in hurling and junior in football.
An 18 year old in their club can't play with the senior hurlers but he could go out the following week and play on their junior football team, with the same players he wasn't allowed play with the week before.

The rule needs to be revisited, once clubs are accepting that the player gives his first commitment to his own age group and clubs don't try move fixtures for the sake of one player then I say let lads play away if they're happy to do so

Lads Conor McCarthy of the Glen what age is he, did he play Cork Minor ?
Also Josh and Jake Brosnon are they brothers ? and what age are they ? did one of them play Cork Minor last year ?
Michael T is a cousin too is he ?
And James Murray of the Barrs what age is he ?
Cheers lads !

This is only a silly Cork rule because the clubs gave into the county board as per usual. It's not a rule in any other county so it should only take one club to break it with a few others to follow suit and then couldn't the county board and the other clubs be told drop it by Croke Park.
