Cork Minor Hurling 2024

My god that is exactly the kind of article that boils my piss when it comes to Cork hurling. Blowing young lads up, creating ego's, creating pressure, setting lads up for a fall.
Ridiculous piece from the Echo.
I'd agree with this. The most important part of minor is that lads are still playing the game in 3 or 4 years time, at whatever level suits them best.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, he hasn't a clue. I know a good few players both on it and who should've been on it and because there are fellas on it who are lucky to get their game for their club everybody finds it faintly ridiculous.
I certainly wouldn't be worrying about it, some on here making a mountain out of a molehill. This is a practice of the GAA at U-17 level and then it should be abolished completely if it can't be practiced at U-18 within a county, same could be with the senior All-Stars and no two people are going to agree with the same team selected. In fairness to Jack McKay he acknowledged the team wasn't completely selected by him as one individual could not attend all games and Eamonn Murphy also had a huge input. The article stirs interest in those who follow underage GAA, the minor scene and highlights who are among our best minor hurlers with the view that development is common to all, it was praiseworthy of all selected and indicated their strengths and weaknesses without criticising any players.

I would be far more concerned with respective minor inter-county selectors over the years not selecting the likes of Stephen Lynam, Diarmuid Wall, Ronan Barry and Thomas Dunlea among others over the last couple of years.

I would be also more concerned with Rebel Og's decision on Shandrum playing Premier 1 next year as a lot of their players who won last Saturday will be overage. I pointed out the reverse when Ballinora should have been allowed go up a level at U-14 in 2022.

A poster on The Blood and Bandage posted this yesterday. If anyone could answer his questions, it would be appreciated.

Hi lads
I have been following the cork minors closely enough in recent weeks and this may be a question better asked on P.R.O.C (but I'm finding it next to impossible to create an account) is Keith Flood ballygarvan and CBC or Josh Brosnan Mon ag and Glen Rovers involved with this year minors and if not why I've seen both players in this years harty cup and saw Keith playing vs my own club last year and was outstanding I must say and would find it hard to believe there's 2 or 3 better keepers in the county I would greatly appreciate any wisdom on this topic and if someone could pass it onto the P.R.O.C forum for the minor team I would be equally grateful. I have a good feeling about this group but it seems all too common in cork where quality players are left out of minor squads they should be making so hope its not a repeat and there is a legitimate reason for their omission.
Thanks ."

I can't answer that question, unfortunately. You might have more luck posting it on the 2025 thread.
