You can't read much into this, but it seems a bit underwhelming. Little sign of forward planning or trying to address the problems in the middle of of the park. The half-forward and half-back lines in particular look pretty ordinary on paper.

On the bright side, Roche and O'Callaghan are both worth a look in the FB line, and good to see Twomey starting. Hopefully some of the newer faces on the bench, the likes of Carry, Cotter and Harrington, will get time as well.

Remember back in 2003 when we had a refreshing squad. The lads of 99 was gone a bit stale be it strikes etc next thing we had a young Tom Kenny and Ronan Curran and everything changed. We are so stale now.
Have you even looked at the squad?
There is no other county , imo , with such a high number of players under 23 involved.
The players may or may not be good enough but the squad certainly isn't stale.
We already now of at least four new faces involved this year in Cotter, McCarthy,Mullins and Saunderson.

I would guess that no squad will be picked for a number of weeks.
This game and the upcoming Co-op league games will be used to give as many players as possible a game.
For what it's worth there are seven under 20 winners starting in this game on Saturday.
